Ivy also went to Far Brook School (and later MKA) together, and a lot of Gumedia's teaching philosophy reflects the holistic approach to learning experienced at Far Brook. Ivy's mom, Ms. Betty, was a chemist at Hoffmann-La Roche for over 30 years and she infuses the curriculum with her deep understanding of STEM principles, tailored for young kids. Her science background also lends itself to consistent adherence to COVID protocols including fully vaccinated staff, UV light sterilization, and frequent hand washing. The school provides all snacks and meals with a plant-based menu and also has a private garden where kids can plant herbs, tomatoes, lettuce, bell peppers and eggplants that can either be taken home to their families or incorporated into the menu. They're currently enrolling for preschool, pre-K and a transitional kindergarten program and also provide after school care.
